Harrison Ford: Top 10 All-Time Moments

Harrison Ford: Top 10 All-Time Moments

Back to Articles

Solo: A Star Wars Story releases May 25. It does not star Harrison Ford. But it does stand as a salute to the iconic character made famous by everyone's favorite all-around cool guy and badass, Mr. Ford.

In celebration of the dude, we've got a collection of ten of our all-time favorite Harrison Ford moments below, both on- and off-screen.

1. "You're the One Who Couldn't Keep It In Your Furry Pants!"

This sketch on Kimmel starts off fun enough but it really hits its stride when Han's old pal, Chewbacca, shows up at the 1:22 mark. You'd think Ford would be happy to see the fella, but he immediately goes off on Chewie. "You son of a b****. WHAT DO YOU WANT?!" This is a good starting point to illustrate just how far Ford is willing to go to have a good time.

"And you… I'll see you in hell."

2. "It's Not Our Way."  "But It's My Way."

The 1985 thriller, Witness, may not be on the radar of many here. While it's a famous Ford film appearance, it doesn't sit atop pop culture like his roles in Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and Patriot Games. But what's better than seeing Ford play a Philadelphia cop posing as a member of the Amish community but still willing to dish out an ass-kicking at the (literal) drop of a hat? Not much.

The below serves as a not-so-gentle reminder… don't screw with Harrison Ford.

3. "They Closed a F***ing Door on Me!"

Ford uses a Han Solo action figure to illustrate to Jimmy Fallon just how he was injured on the set of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. There's a lot of anger, cursing, and doll destruction. Bonus: Includes an (intentional) Ford spit take.

4. A Ford/Gosling Bromance

This isn't a single clip but is instead a supercut of all the times Ford royally screwed with Ryan Gosling while doing the press tour for Bladerunner: 2049.

"What's your name… Ryan?" On multiple occasions, Ford acts like he can't remember Gosling's name. He apparently calls him Brian often. Sometimes Ryan Rosling. Heck, occasionally Harrison just pushes the poor dude from behind during interviews. And for his part, Gosling tries to give the crap back in kind.

It really leaves you wondering what's actually in all those coffee mugs they're drinking out of…

5. No Rules

True story: Ford got a terrible case of food poisoning and couldn't physically handle the rigors of the very scripted big-time sword fight in this scene. Thus, Steven Spielberg made the executive decision to give Indy a gun here, and one of the series' most iconic moments was born.

6. Han Shoots First

This is none of that remade junk wherein Han shot in "self-defense." This is a 1080P HD cut of the original where Han happily blasts Greedo to kingdom come. (5:09 in the clip below)

7. "I Love You." "I Know."

Ford and his fans have a little fun reenacting the famous set of lines from The Empire Strikes Back on The Graham Norton Show. Needless to say, Harrison's still got it.

And for old time's sake, here's the original, classic moment:

8. Air Force Fun

Imagine Harrison Ford is the president. (Already fantastic, right?) Then imagine he has to take on a Russian terrorist played by Gary friggin' Oldman. And then imagine that the two tangle to the death aboard Air Force One.

Quit imagining. This is real [film] life. And gosh, is it fun. Enjoy the clip—and the perfect ending pun—from Air Force One (1997) below.

9. The Greatest Love Story of Our Time

At the beginning of this piece, you saw the explosion of rage that rocked Hollywood—the onset of the Chewbacca/Han feud in real life. Here, we bring it full circle by featuring the beautiful moment when the two reunited, as Ford returns to talk Chewie off the ledge. Literally. (Also featuring "Hello" by Adele.) Holy hell, it's all so touching.

10. Harrison Ford Loves Playing Dress Up

We're wrapping this with a selection of clips of Ford cutting up, including him appearing on a show "as a dog in a hot dog suit," among other getups. Good times.
